For sale are 15 grams of Yopo seeds. It seems many vendors are mislabeling their seeds or generalizing two SEPARATE plant species. This is seen in the countless listings where Anadenanthera colubrina seeds are labeled as Yopo seeds. The nickname for Anadenanthera colubrina is Cebil seeds, NOT Yopo seeds. While the seeds may look similar in characteristics, and are from the same family, Anadenanthera colubrina and Anadenanthera peregrina seeds contain different alkaloids; and different concentrations of the alkaloids they do happen to share. They also grow in different regions. Both species of seeds have been historically used as a snuff powder. Usage of this amazing entheogen dates all the way back to 1496. Shamans of the Orinoco basin are the primary consumers of Yopo seed snuff. This entheogen is very important to tribes of the region. This is evidenced in the fact that they cultivate the Anadenanthera peregrina tree even though it is not native to the region.
